Pandit Raguraman comes from a traditional Brahmin family in Rameswaram. His father and ancestors also served as Kurukkal (Chief Priests) at the famous Lord Ramanathaswamy Temple. He learned the sacred Vedic mantras from his Guru, Late Shri Shri Srinivasa Sastrigal, and has many years of experience performing poojas and homams in the traditional Vedic way.

Rameswaram and Kashi are two of the most important holy places for Hindus. Pilgrims who visit Rameswaram usually take a holy bath in the 22 Theerthas, perform rituals, and seek the blessings of Lord Ramanathaswamy. Many devotees also come here to perform poojas for astrological remedies and personal prayers.
